1. Who runs this site

This site is run by Frederike Falke as a personal practice. It's not a company — it's a writer's home on the internet. If you have any privacy question, write to hello@frederikefalke.com.

2. What I collect

Two things, both with your consent:

  • Newsletter subscribers: email address, optional first name. Stored to send you the emails you signed up for. Nothing else.
  • Site analytics: anonymous traffic patterns (pages viewed, referrer, country). No cookies that identify you. No third-party ad networks.

That's it. No tracking pixels, no remarketing, no audience profile sharing.

3. Newsletter mechanics

When you subscribe, you'll get a confirmation email (double opt-in). Once you click confirm, you're in.

  • You can unsubscribe anytime via the link at the bottom of every email
  • Your email is stored in a Supabase database (EU-hosted) and used only to deliver newsletters via Resend
  • I do not sell, rent, or share my newsletter list with anyone

4. Your rights (GDPR)

If you're in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access what I have on you (mostly: your email)
  • Correct any data
  • Delete everything (full erasure; my list keeps no backup of removed addresses past 90 days)
  • Object to processing
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Email hello@frederikefalke.com and I'll handle it within 30 days, usually much faster.

5. Cookies

No marketing cookies. No tracking cookies. Just whatever is technically necessary for the site to function (e.g., your locale preference stored in localStorage). You can clear those any time via your browser.

6. Third parties involved

  • Resend (email delivery, US-based) — sees your email when I send you newsletters
  • Supabase (database, EU-hosted) — stores the newsletter list
  • Vercel (hosting, US-based) — serves this site

I have standard data-processing agreements with each.

7. Children

This site is not directed at people under 16. I don't knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.

8. Updates

If I change this policy materially (new data collection, new sub-processors), I'll email subscribers and update the "Last updated" date. Minor wording fixes happen silently.
